Gillig Chassis/Cummins 325/97 American

Hey Folks, Need a little help. A friend of mine is considering the above combo. Nice condition, runs and drives great and in overall good condition. I don't know anything about the older gillig chassis but did do a search and it looks like they were a solid chassis. Anything input from the folks here who have had some experience would be great. RE: Keyless Entry Fleetwood

We just encountered the same problem with the "keyless remotes while parked at a marina in Duluth MN. Then noticed the Jeep remote and the tv remote in the rear of the coach wouldn't work either. Tried everything and nothing worked until we moved to Tower 3 days later and everything works fine now. There was some sort of interference in the marina where we were parked that caused the problem. Go figure! Safe travels. Kevin & Alexis

RE: Used Revolution 40c

The Rev's are nice units. With that said you are looking at a FIVE year old motorhome. Look at the original MSRP and do the math, the low 100's is about right. I agree with Fred right now more supply than demand! Safe Travels. Kevin & Alexis

RE: montana llc living in missouri

getinoutofmissouri, We got out of the "show me state" almost 2 years ago. We are fulltimers and looked into the Montana LLC's and a bunch of other options. After much thought just licensed the MoHo in Missouri, it is where are car is licensed also, paid the taxes, joined Escapees and hit the road. I have been told by several Law Enforcement Officers while on the road that they look for and frequently pull over MoHo's where the toad and the rig have different plates. All I can tell you is it just seemed like one big hassle just to save some taxes. JMHO as always! Safe Travels. Kevin & Alexis

RE: Full Wall Slides

We have been fulltiming in our Discovery Full Wall Slide for almost 2 years now and have put 31k on the bus. As much as I have a love/hate relationship with my D, the full wall slide itself has been the least of my problems. We did have to have the 3 motors re-synchronized once and a rear slide seal replaced but Fleetwood paid for it although it was out of warranty by a couple of weeks. I get on the roof once a week and am constantly on the look out for ANY problems with the roof, etc and so far so good and never any leaks. We love the space and always get compliments from other people in parks about how nice looking a unit it is. I won't go into the other "annoying problems" that won't seem to go away, that's for another thread! Safe Travels. Kevin & Alexis

RE: Surprise Surprise

We have always driven in the 55 to 60 range and it's 7.3 now that we are beyond 30k in miles. As far as everybody slowing down, I have seen nobody slowing down. We are passed by every vehicle on the road, so if American drivers are slowing down, we haven't seen it on the highways we drive. Safe travels. Kevin & Alexis

RE: All Seasons Recommendation

Redbush54, You may want to look into the Triple E brand of MoHo. We spent some time with a Canadian couple on a trip that owned one and they are built in Canada and for the cold weather. Just don't know how easy they are to find in the states. Safe Travels. Kevin & Alexis

RE: Newsweek Article on the State of the RV Industry

The part about more sites being available is good. The question is how bad will it be by the snow bird time this fall. The many far south resorts depend on the snow birds in RV's for business to be in the black. A turn down in the travel of existing RV owners is estimated at 60%. Won't get better until fuel price comes back down under $3.00 a gallon. That may be some time next spring. Sorry, trop-a-cal, Never going to be $3.00 a gallon again. It's close to $5.00 a gallon for diesel right now in Northern Illinois. Safe Travels. Kevin & Alexis

RE: Camping..??..in your class A

Sully, Once again you nailed it! Got the Q grill going as we speak. There are a large number of NICE private, local, state and national campgrounds in every state that are very affordable. All you have to do is look around, they are not hard to find. Safe Travels. Kevin & Alexis

RE: Gas prices (what do you pay)

In Oklahoma currently unleaded $3.31 and Diesel $3.81. When we left the left coast unleaded $3.59 and Diesel $4.09. They will both be well over $4.00 nationwide by Memorial Day. Safe Travels. Kevin & Alexis

RE: Which would you prefer

I would of never before posted a rely to this since we don't own one of these products but just recently looked at Newmars. All we can say is WOW. The DSDP we looked at was not only a beautiful coach but the build quality was unbelievable, made me want to set my Discovery on fire. Our decision is made, when we replace our D, it will be a Newmar Dutchstar. Safe Travels. Kevin & Alexis

RE: Is anyone slowing down to get better mileage

Always have driven between 55 and 65, 7.1 to 7.3 average all over the USA dragging the Liberty. Haven't noticed any truck slowing down, just keep blowing by me like I am standing still. Safe Travels. Kevin & Alexis

I-40 closed west of Flagstaff

I-40 west of Flagstaff is closed in both directions due to a severe multi-car accident in the east bound lanes. Arizona State Police told me there were multiple fatalities and 50 to 60 vehicles involved and to expect the highway to be closed for up to 24 hours. The accident occurred about 12:30pm mountain time today. We were just behind it and managed to get stopped. We feel very lucky now to be parked at the KOA in Williams safe and warm. If anyone is going that way, call ahead for traffic conditions. Safe Travels. Kevin & Alexis

RE: Listen to my DIESEL engine !!

I posted a thread last October titled "What's your rule". Left the MoHo, and when we returned, the thread had been closed and I had received a few PM's telling me to get @%$&*&^!!! and then some. Still can't believe that at almost $4.00 a gallon...... Oh well, close the windows and turn up the tunes! As always, to all, Safe Travels. Kevin & Alexis

RE: Wind Sensor A & E Weather Pro Awning

We have a 06 Discovery with a A&E awning and wind sensor. There is a fuse inside the sensor "box" that on our MoHo is in the cabinet above the outside door. Check the fuse, on ours that was the problem. Safe Travels. Kevin & Alexis
